Diablo IV's Season of Death Awakening launches on June 30, introducing new gameplay mechanics, rewards, and a collaboration with Overwatch.

Blizzard Entertainment has announced the launch of Diablo IV's Season of Death Awakening, set to begin on June 30 at 10:00 a.m. PDT. This new season follows the defeat of Mephisto and introduces a host of new features, including the ability to engage with Pandemonium Ruptures, explore the newly released Tower and Leaderboards, and utilize the revamped Mythic Uniques 3.0 system.

New Features and Gameplay Mechanics

Players will encounter Pandemonium Ruptures throughout Sanctuary, particularly in Helltide Zones. These rifts will spawn new monsters and provide opportunities for loot, with rewards increasing the longer they remain open. Players can earn Glints of Hope by closing these Ruptures, which can be redeemed for rewards at the reputation board in Zarbinzet.

Additionally, the new Solo Self Found mode allows players to experience the game without trading or joining parties, focusing on personal achievements. This mode will feature its own Leaderboards, showcasing the skills of players who choose to embark on this solitary journey.

Mythic Uniques 3.0 and Crafting Updates

Season 14 introduces Mythic Uniques 3.0, allowing players to convert any Unique item into a Mythic Unique, which enhances its powers by 30%. Players can craft these items using the Horadric Cube or the Jeweler, utilizing a new seasonal currency called Pandemonium Fragments. This update aims to provide players with more customization options for their builds.

Moreover, the Horadric Cube will receive updates that allow for rerolling undesirable affixes on Unique items, enhancing the crafting experience.

Collaboration with Overwatch

In an exciting crossover, players can earn Eye of the Overwatch currency by defeating Elite and Champion monsters during the season. This currency can be used to unlock legendary cosmetics and the first-ever earnable dye in the Overwatch Reliquary. Exclusive Overwatch skins will also be available in Tejal’s Shop starting on the same day.

Rewards and Season Rank

The Season of Death Awakening is packed with over 120 objectives and nine ranks, offering players the chance to earn various rewards, including Skill Points, Paragon Points, and Mythic Unique Caches. Notably, about 15% of the objectives will require the Lord of Hatred expansion, meaning not all rewards will be accessible to players without it.

With the introduction of these new features and mechanics, the Season of Death Awakening promises to enrich the Diablo IV experience, providing players with fresh challenges and rewards to pursue.
