Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 Unveils Combat Systems and Connection Theme in New Trailer

Bandai Namco Entertainment America Inc. has released a new gameplay trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, providing an in-depth look at the game’s combat systems and the central theme of connection that intertwines gameplay elements. Set in the unexplored era of AGE 1000, this sequel allows players to choose their hero and engage in battles alongside iconic Dragon Ball characters.

The trailer follows a rookie member of the Great Saiya Squad as they navigate through a complete mission, showcasing the core gameplay mechanics. Players will form squads of up to four characters, adapting their strategies to face waves of enemies and formidable bosses. The connections to original Dragon Ball characters play a crucial role in shaping gameplay, influencing character builds, ability customization, and combat strategies.

At the heart of every encounter in Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is Ki, which players can drain from opponents through various attacks, including combos and charged strikes. This mechanic can lead enemies into a Ki Break status, making them susceptible to a powerful finisher known as Break Smash, which inflicts significantly more damage than standard Super Attacks. The game features multiple types of Super Attacks, each with unique secondary effects, while Ultimate Attacks deliver cinematic blows once their gauges are filled.

Additionally, the trailer introduces the Soul Assist feature, allowing players to summon a Dragon Ball character to execute one of their signature moves when the Assist Gauge is full. The Soul Switch mechanic enables players to temporarily channel a chosen character's soul, enhancing their combat abilities and altering their appearance.
