Dune: Awakening Launches on PlayStation 5 with New Single-Player Mode

On September 22, Dune: Awakening will make its debut on PlayStation 5, bringing an open-world survival experience set on the iconic planet of Arrakis. Players will have the opportunity to explore, build, craft, and engage with a cinematic story that poses the intriguing question: what if Paul Atreides was never born?

Having been available on PC for over a year, Dune: Awakening has undergone significant updates and content additions. The PlayStation 5 version promises to be the most refined yet, featuring a full single-player mode, a highly requested addition that transforms the game from its original multiplayer focus.

The development team has dedicated considerable effort to ensure that the PlayStation 5 experience is optimized. The game will run at 60fps in Performance Mode on both the standard and Pro versions of the console, with upscaled 4K resolution available in both modes. Quality Mode will operate at 30fps, providing players with a visually stunning experience.

One of the standout features of Dune: Awakening is its approach to accessibility within the survival genre. The game is designed to ease players into its mechanics without sacrificing challenge. A strong narrative thread guides players from survivalist to hero, making it an inviting entry point for those new to survival games.

The introduction of the single-player mode is a significant shift for the game. Unlike the PC version, which is exclusively multiplayer, the single-player experience simulates competitive objectives among factions, maintaining the game's core dynamics. A Japanese release is also planned for October, with pre-orders starting soon.
