For Honor unveils Arakure, a new brawler hero, alongside the return of the Metal Trials event and Starter Dominion mode.

For Honor has announced the arrival of its newest hero, Arakure, set to join the battlefield on July 23. This brawler, equipped with Tonfas, brings a unique playstyle and a compelling backstory that highlights her disdain for the Samurai faction.

Arakure's narrative is rooted in her tumultuous past, having been born into a life of crime. Her hatred for the Samurai intensified after her brother was killed by an Orochi guard during a heist. In a bold move, she plans to deface the statue of Khatun during the Samurai Feast, aiming to demonstrate that the Samurai are not invincible.

Gameplay and Features

As an Assassin, Arakure specializes in striking and target swapping. Her playstyle is characterized by her scrappy nature, where she employs a variety of tactics to gain the upper hand in combat. Described as short-tempered and explosive, she embodies a brazen attitude, taking on challenges with confidence and defiance.

Metal Trials Throwback Event

In addition to Arakure's debut, the Metal Trials throwback event is returning for a limited time. This PvE mode challenges players to face waves of enemies, with increasing difficulty over three weeks. Participants can earn various rewards, including:

  • Black Armor Sets retrofitted for all heroes
  • Black weapon sets
  • Event reward retrofits, including an Outfit, two color swatches, two Embossings, and an Emote

Hero Fests and Starter Dominion

For Honor will also host another round of Hero Fests, where specific heroes will be unlocked for all players, allowing them to earn double XP and access new executions. The schedule for the upcoming Hero Fests includes:

  • Berserker - August 20
  • Virtuosa - August 27
  • Jormungandr - September 3

Moreover, the popular Starter Dominion event is making a comeback from July 23 to August 6. This mode retains the core rules of Dominion, focusing on capturing and holding three objective points, but will not include Gear Perks, emphasizing skill-based gameplay. Players can expect five maps in rotation: Quiang Pass, Citadel Gate, River Fort, Canyon Temple, and Garden.

Players can experience Arakure's debut and participate in these events by playing For Honor for free from July 23 to August 4 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC via the Ubisoft Store. After the free period, the game will be available for purchase on various platforms, including Steam and the Epic Games Store, or through a Ubisoft+ subscription.
