Marvel’s Wolverine Reveals New Story Trailer and Details at San Diego Comic-Con

At San Diego Comic-Con, Insomniac Games unveiled a wealth of new information about Marvel’s Wolverine, including an exciting new story trailer that sets the stage for the game’s narrative. The panel featured key developers and cast members, who provided insights into the game’s story and characters, teasing what players can expect when the game launches.

The newly released story trailer highlights an intense moment where Logan confronts Jean Grey, showcasing his emotional vulnerability. Additionally, the trailer introduces The Hand as a new enemy faction, alongside Deathstrike, who will serve as one of the game's primary antagonists.

New artwork was also revealed, depicting Logan in a fierce battle against The Hand, emphasizing their storied history that players will explore throughout the game. This visual content aims to enhance the narrative experience and deepen player engagement.

In a notable collaboration, Insomniac Games announced a partnership with Arc System Works to incorporate Wolverine’s suit from MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls into Marvel’s Wolverine. This unique, stylized suit can be unlocked through game progression starting on Day 1. Conversely, the Marvel’s Wolverine Battle Reborn suit will be available for free to all players of MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls beginning September 1.

Music plays a significant role in the game, with award-winning composer David Fleming crafting the score. Fleming's compositions are designed to dynamically shift alongside Logan’s journey, enhancing the emotional depth of the story.

For those eager to dive deeper into the narrative, a digital prequel comic is now available. Written by Insomniac’s Narrative Director, Walt Williams, and illustrated by Luke Ross, this comic explores Logan’s complex relationships with Team X as they embark on a mission to protect mutant kind. The prequel comic is accessible online via Marvel Unlimited and was also distributed as an exclusive giveaway at SDCC.

Marvel’s Wolverine is now available for pre-order, with a release date set for September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5. Players can choose between the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions, both available for pre-order through the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Direct.
