MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls Open Beta Set for July 24

The Open Beta for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is just around the corner, inviting players to dive into the action from July 24 to July 26. This beta offers both returning players and newcomers a chance to experience the game ahead of its official launch on August 6.

The Open Beta will be available for 72 hours, starting at 12:00 AM PT on July 24 and concluding at 11:59 PM PT on July 26. Players can access the beta on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. No registration is required; players can simply download the beta from their respective platform stores. Pre-downloads will be available two hours before the beta goes live, ensuring players can jump right in as soon as the servers open. A PlayStation Plus subscription is not necessary, but an internet connection and a PlayStation account are required for access on PS5 and PC.

Playable Characters and Stages

During the Open Beta, players will have access to 15 of the game’s 20 launch characters, including the debut of Blade. The roster features a mix of heroes and villains, such as Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther, Storm, and Spider-Man. Players can engage in battles across six iconic stages inspired by legendary Marvel locations, including Marvel’s New York and Wakanda.

Game Modes and Features

The beta will showcase more than just online battles. Players can participate in both Casual and Ranked Matches, allowing them to face opponents of similar skill levels or climb the competitive ladder. For local play, the Versus Mode offers a chance to challenge friends or practice against the CPU.

The Open Lobby serves as a hub between battles, featuring miniature versions of the game’s stages and allowing players to choose from 16 unique avatars. Players can communicate using free chat, preset messages, stamps, and emotes, and challenge others at arcade cabinets scattered throughout the lobby.

Newcomers to the game can benefit from the Start Up Battle tutorial, which introduces core mechanics and team-based systems. Additionally, the Training Mode provides tools for mastering advanced combos and customizing training scenarios.

For the first time, players will also get a glimpse of Episode Mode, playing through the first three chapters of the Amazing Guardians storyline, which features beautifully illustrated motion-comic storytelling combined with explosive battles.

The Open Beta will reflect the full localization players can expect at launch, including voice-over and text in multiple languages. Feedback from previous Closed Betas has led to refined gameplay and improved mechanics, enhancing the overall experience.
