Nintendo has announced a new update for Nintendo Switch Online members, providing access to a selection of classic games from the Super NES™, Game Boy™, and NES™ systems. This update includes three newly added titles to the lineup, enhancing the nostalgic gaming experience for subscribers. The first game is PAC-MAN, where players control the iconic character as he navigates through mazes, gobbling pellets while avoiding ghosts. Players can utilize warp tunnels to move from one edge of the maze to the other and can eat Power Pellets to turn the tables on the ghosts, making them vulnerable. The objective is to clear the stage by consuming all the Pac-Dot pellets while aiming for the highest score possible by collecting fruits like cherries and strawberries for extra points. The second game, Mendel Palace, was originally released for the NES™ console in 1990. In this action game, players take on the role of Bon-Bon, who must rescue his best friend Candy from her dream. To do this, Bon-Bon must outsmart and defeat Candy's evil dolls by flipping panels on the floor to push them into walls. Some panels have special effects that can help clear stages more quickly, adding a strategic element to the gameplay. The third title, THE TOWER OF DRUAGA, challenges players to control the hero GIL as he climbs a tower. Starting from the first floor, players must collect keys and defeat the tower's ruler, DRUAGA, to save his beloved KI. The game features various enemies that require multiple hits to defeat, and players must be cautious of spells, fire, and time limits that can lead to losing lives. Secret tasks on each floor reward players with hidden items necessary for progressing through the game. Nintendo Switch Online members can enjoy these classic games as part of their subscription, which requires a Nintendo Account for online features.
