Splatoon Raiders Launches on Nintendo Switch 2 with Treasure Hunting Adventure

Nintendo has unveiled exciting details about its upcoming title, Splatoon Raiders, during the Splatoon Raiders Direct presentation. This new action-shooter game is set to launch exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 23.

In Splatoon Raiders, players take on the role of a mechanic collaborating with the musical trio Deep Cut—Shiver, Frye, and Big Man. The game focuses on single-player gameplay as players explore the mysterious Spirhalite Islands in search of treasure. Players will customize their characters and utilize a variety of ink-splattering weapons and mechanical gadgets to fend off waves of enemy Salmonids while raiding for loot.

Gameplay Features

The Spirhalite Islands offer diverse terrains filled with challenges, enemies, and treasures. Players will encounter various types of Salmonids, including:

• Lesser Salmonids: Weak individually but dangerous in numbers.
• Boss Salmonids: Stronger foes that drop Mega Power Eggs when defeated.
• Seasoned Salmonids: The toughest enemies, enhanced with salt for added difficulty.

Players will have access to over 100 weapon variations, with the potential to discover rare weapons with unique powers. The game features three types of tanks—Speed, Power, and Tactical—each equipped with specific gadgets to enhance gameplay. Players can customize their gadgets by collecting parts during their adventures, allowing for upgrades that increase damage, fire rate, and other effects.

Character Customization and Progression

Customization extends beyond gadgets; players can earn stylish outfits by completing challenges and tapping compatible amiibo figures for unique designs. The game offers three difficulty levels—Tourist, Raider, and Survivalist—allowing players to choose their challenge level while maintaining the same loot rewards.

Multiplayer options are available, enabling players to team up with up to three others online or via local wireless to hunt for treasure together. Additionally, players can call for help from others online, receiving temporary aid during raids.

As players progress, they can level up by defeating Salmonids and keep any weapons and salvage found, even if they are defeated. This progression system encourages exploration and enhances the treasure-hunting experience.

With its engaging gameplay mechanics and customization options, Splatoon Raiders promises to deliver a fresh adventure for fans of the franchise. The game also ties into the broader Splatoon universe, with a collaboration Splatfest themed around Splatoon Raiders set to take place in Splatoon 3 from July 10 to July 12.
