The Division 2 Launches Dust Storm Event with New Challenges and Rewards

The Division 2 has kicked off its limited-time Dust Storm event, transforming lower Manhattan into a chaotic battleground under a dynamic sandstorm. This event runs from today until August 11, offering players a chance to experience the game in a fresh and challenging environment.

During the Dust Storm event, players can access the Warlords of New York expansion for free. The event introduces new weather conditions that significantly impact gameplay, including two levels of dust storms: the Calm Dust Storm, which obscures sightlines for approximately 18 minutes, and the Raging Dust Storm, which further impairs visibility and introduces intense wind sounds that can disorient players.

New event bosses known as Dust Devils will also challenge players. These enemies, part of a group of Rikers, will spawn every six minutes during the Raging Dust Storm. Players must defeat them to face one of two bosses: Pall, a sniper using advanced tech, or Black Lung, a tank-like enemy supported by an artillery turret. Defeating these bosses rewards players with unique masks and Storm Keys, which can be used to unlock exclusive items from the Event Vendor.

As players navigate the sandstorm, they can find up to 20 loot caches scattered throughout the environment. These caches will be replenished daily by the Dust Devils, allowing for continuous gear acquisition throughout the event.

Exclusive Rewards and Community Challenges

Logging into The Division 2 during the event automatically grants players the Parched Headgear. The Event Vendor features new items, including five outfits and a new weapon skin, available for purchase with Storm Keys. Players can also earn additional rewards by participating in a community challenge, which includes milestones for collecting Storm Keys that unlock exclusive weapons and skins.

Additionally, players can engage in creator collaborations that feature unique activities across New York, rewarding participants with named item caches and exclusive apparel.

Realism Mode and New Assignments

The Dust Storm event also marks the return of Realism Mode, where players can experience a more challenging gameplay style with reduced interfaces and altered gear bonuses. Completing specific missions in this mode will yield unique weapon skins.

Back in Washington D.C., a new Classified Assignment, the McMillan Reservoir Assault, has launched, adding further content for players to explore. This assignment involves navigating a faction war to rescue a fellow agent.

As The Division 2 prepares for the upcoming Incursion, the Paradise Lost Incursion is receiving a refresh, featuring new events and challenges for players to tackle.

Players can participate in the Dust Storm event on PlayStation, Xbox, or PC through various platforms, including the Ubisoft Store, Steam, or the Epic Games Store.
