Xbox Backward Compatibility Now Available on PC

In a significant move for gamers, Xbox has announced the launch of backward compatibility for classic Xbox games on PC. This feature allows players to enjoy beloved titles from the original Xbox era on their PCs and handheld devices, including the ROG Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X. Starting today, players can access four classic titles: Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy. These games are available for purchase on PC and are also included with all Xbox Game Pass plans. For those who already own digital licenses for these games on console, the licenses now extend to PC and handheld devices.

The backward compatibility feature is part of a broader effort to bring Xbox's gaming legacy to PC. Players can utilize Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming to access these classic games across various platforms, enhancing the overall gaming experience.

In addition to making these titles available on PC for the first time, Xbox has introduced several new features designed to improve gameplay. These include a GPU such as the Nvidia GTX 950 or AMD Radeon RX 550, a minimum of 8GB RAM, and Windows 11. Recommended specifications suggest a more powerful GPU and CPU for optimal performance.
